Dennis Lauer
Owner & President
Dennis is the true definition of a professional, through and through. Dennis brings over 30 years of Project Management and Business Development skills in both public and private areas. Dennis began the business with Shane in the field, but now focuses primarily on developing and growing the business from his office. Don’t be surprised to see a guy in a shirt and tie with a squeegee in his hands though, Dennis does whatever is required to get the job done in a timely and cost effective manner.
Shane Lauer
Co-owner & Vice President
Shane has been working in the asphalt industry since 2009. While still in high school Shane worked in the summer and on weekends doing residential sealcoating, with Mike Vennemann (and if you are viewing this you most likely knew of him!). In 2012, Shane decided he needed more help to pay his way through college and got a job with a much larger company. In his first season, he began as a residential sealcoating technician helper. After his first 2 months he was promoted to a heavy equipment operator for one of the paving crews, operating everything except the paver. By the end of year 2 and at age 21 Shane was selling, coordinating, and over seeing many small jobs while still working as well.
Shane brings the asphalt knowledge and expertise to Lauer & Sons. He is responsible for expanding the business by exploring new products and services that compliment our business’ growing desire to be the leader in the pavement maintenance industry. Shane also oversees all estimates, scheduling, crew members, hiring process, and training needed for the crew members. He also does all of the purchasing of materials and equipment necessary.
Being part owner, Shane takes great pride in knowing that all of the crews strive to provide not only the best customer satisfaction, but the greatest quality of work in the asphalt service industry as well.

In 2014, Dennis called Shane and asked if he wanted to “keep making other guys money, or pay yourself for your hard work” After some careful consideration and planning, the two decided to start their own business, their way, the right way. They bought Mike Vennemann’s small driveway sealcoating business and it was off to the races.
Although only established in 2014, Lauer & Sons has serviced over 500 driveways a year, as well as many commercial properties, in the Annapolis, Baltimore, Washington D.C. metro area. During these beginning years, we aim to build long lasting relationships with our customer’s and a reputation known for quality.
Our goal is to provide our customers with the quality workmanship they deserve. We have a knowledgeable staff of highly experienced employees, a fleet of state of the art equipment and the best products to complete your job on time with minimal disruption to your home life or business.
